Making art has been my gift to myself.  Whether painting in watercolor or oil I love the process of applying paint through various methods.  It allows me to be in the moment and enjoy the many challenges that each medium imposes. The push/pull I feel with landscape is something I can’t escape. My images are based on places I’ve been.  Sometimes I work plein air and other times I may reference a photo or work from my memory and imagination.  I’m particularly drawn to marshes because for me they represent a feeling of space and calm in an era when these are pressing needs. Perhaps too I feel the parallel of wetlands being nurturing and nesting grounds much as I have been with my own family.

My work has been shown at various juried shows in the Bay Area and other States as well.  I have participated in Open Studios in S.F. since 2003
